Kirby Hall School is great with great people. We've almost finished our second year here and I couldn't have asked for a better environment for my son. Every morning, you'll be greeted with friendly hellos from staff and parents. It may seem small, but it will make your day. The workload is high, but there's no overwhelming pressure. It's spread out throughout the day and week, so that we don't feel overwhelmed. Also, the school increased the range of after-school activities, as well as family events, which keeps us active in the education and environment of our child. I knew when I started my search for private schools in Austin that I wanted two things. First, a solid education that would stimulate and support my child in future classes and experiences. Second, a small classroom sized environment that wouldn't lose my son to the masses. We have nothing but happiness and relief because of this school.

Kirby Hall School has everything we've been looking for. The preschool kids experience specials during the week such as Spanish, PE, Theater, music and art, each with it's own teacher. Our daughter gets so much knowledge from different classes. She has a wonderful core teacher too, Miss Thomas. She loves going to school. It's wonderful to see her so happy and cared for during the day. This school is really something special and we can't wait to hear about her future education.
My daughter had an incredible time at Kirby Hall. Her nature has been woven into the culture of compassion, individuality, and a love of learning, which has had a truly positive and formative influence.
We have an experience in both public and private schools for both elementary and middle school levels. We have two children one in sixth grade and one in primer. Kirby Hall School is unique in Austin. It offers individualized academic experiences due to its small class sizes, coupled with an incredibly overqualified, engaged, and passionate teaching staff. Teachers have a chance to really get to know your child, on what they are good at and where they need help. They strive to continually challenge your child to realize their potential. And the staff knows every child, and every child knows that they have someone to turn to when things are not going well. The principal of the school loves these children as if they were her own. She loves the school as well. The environment is welcoming and inclusive. It really shows in everything they do. Unlike many of our previous schools, we feel at home right away. I admit that there are a lot of other good schools but, none of them offers the same level of education and experience as here.

This school is housed in a beautiful 1920s brick building, that reminds me of the old private schools found in the Northeast. It's charming and picturesque. The halls are filled with bright, curious children and teachers, who are confident and relaxed. The principal is very passionate and involved. But, she does not control and gives teachers the freedom to teach what they love. Overall, this school is a gem and I'm so glad we found it.
