Our Lady Of Fatima School is nice and has a family-friendly environment. They have great sports program and flourishing drama ministry. The caring principle, who doubles as the middle school history teacher. Parent involvement is vital here. So, if you love to lead and plan events, then you'll be popular here. However, there's no health office or school nurse available in this school. If your child gets sick and throwing up, she will have to be there at the main office where everyone can see her. Those includes other students, teachers and visitors. Also, there's no school psychologist, counselors, special education teachers, special education classes or any interventionist of any kind. So, if your child is a special needs child or possibly needing an evaluation, this school will not help you. On the other hand, their hot lunch program is good. A bit pricey though for, $6.50- $7.50 per lunch. When it comes to payment, parents must pay for everything. This includes, field trips, students' and teachers' supplies, sports fees cost $200, technical fee, musical fee if your child participates in musicals, Science camp, fee for not attending mandatory parent meetings in the middle of a school or work week, etc. In addition, you must volunteer a total of 40 hours or a fee per hour you're short applies. However, if you volunteer for fundraising that doesn't benefit the whole school, you won't get hours for it. For me it's all become very exhausting. Honestly, I can't really say if their education is great. They're claiming to be advanced, but I have nothing to compare it to. Elementary and middle school kids must take ELA, Math , Science, History or Social Studies, Religion, PE, praise and worship, art, and music. Although they don't have music instruments for the kids, they do teach them a little bit about music theory. If your kids don't get burned out, all these classes will really prepare them for the rigors of high school. They also utilize a differential learning method, where kids are divided into categories, based on their mastery of a subject. Except for transitional kindergartens and kindergartens, the students have different teachers for different subjects. They posted grades, through online portal. That's their excuse for not alerting you, if your child is failing a class. So, checking the portal is a must. They tell you that parents are the primary educators. It's not the teachers responsibility to intervene if your child is failing, right? This is the reason why I'm considering my kid for homeschooling. On a good note, the best thing about our time here was second grade. The beautiful, private and sentimental first Communion ceremony was very special.
